A Year To Treasure

Vibrant Independent Producers
Lynch & Paterson Launch 2020 Season

Lynch & Paterson

Brisbane independent theatrical producers, Lynch & Paterson have just unveiled their 2020 Season for South-East Queensland. Specialising in producing unique and vibrant shows, Lynch and Paterson will present 8 different productions staged in a multitude of venues throughout Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Friday December 6 saw Lucas D. Lynch and Samantha Paterson launch their season in stylish fashion at the 131-year-old Princess Theatre in Woolloongabba.

“We are so excited to be presenting eight productions in 2020. With something special or magical in each show, this is going to be a year to treasure.”

Kicking off their “year to treasure” is the hilarious Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera The Pirates of Penzance. Presented ‘in concert’, their production performs February 21 and 22 at the Princess Theatre, featuring original Ten Tenor and Top 24 contestant on The Voice Au 2017, Nathan Kneen as the Pirate King.

Throughout South-East Queensland, Lynch & Paterson will tour two productions: Divas of the Stage, a celebration of Broadway and Pop’s greatest female artists, and an encore season of A Morning with Bernstein, a musical collection from West Side Story’s great composer, Leonard Bernstein. These shows will tour to Logan Entertainment Centre, Ipswich Civic Centre, Redcliffe Entertainment Centre and The Events Centre Caloundra.

Lynch & Paterson will also present two spectacular concerts each featuring the works of one highly awarded composer. The first, A Celebration of Stephen Sondheim honours Sondheim’s 90th birthday and his intricate and exciting contributions to the world of musical theatre, including moments from Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods and Company to name but three. Their second celebration – Music of John Williams – will showcase Williams’ most iconic film scores featuring highlights from Star Wars, Harry Potter, E.T, Jurassic Park and Jaws.

Although Andrew Lloyd Webber is most known for his musicals Cats and Phantom of the Opera, Lynch & Paterson are bringing 2 of his lesser-known works alongside megahit Jesus Christ Superstar to the stage in 2020. Requiem, a classical vocal and orchestral work will be presented in St. John’s Cathedral, Brisbane in May and double-bill Song and Dance will be performing at the Roundhouse Theatre, Kelvin Grove in October. Rounding out their ‘Year to Treasure’ is Jesus Christ Superstar, bursting onto Woolongabba’s Princess Theatre Stage in December, which celebrates 50 years since the original 1970 concept album. Lynch & Paterson will partner with acclaimed orchestra Cadenza Chamber Players for this exciting season of productions!
