Shrek The Musical finds its Australian Cast

Opening on New Year’s Day at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, the remaining cast of the hotly anticipated ‘Shrek the Musical’ has been recently announced, joining the previously announced lead cast members Ben Mingay as Shrek, Lucy Durack as Princess Fiona and Todd McKenney as Lord Farquaad.

Nat Jobe takes on the role of Donkey, Shrek’s annoyingly enthusiastic best friend, a role that he has played before during Packemin’s production of Shrek the Musical – one hell of a testament to the pro/am theatre scene in Sydney.

Australian megastar Marcia Hines will continue to play The Dragon during the Melbourne season, in addition to the Brisbane and Sydney seasons for performances from 18 March.

Taking on a variety of fun fairytale personas within Dulac are Ross Chisari (as Little Pig), Annie Chiswell (Ugly Duckling), Benjamin Colley (Pied Piper), Andy Conaghan (Wolf), Denise Devlin (Mama Bear), Mackenzie Dunn (Swing), Blake Erickson(Papa Bear), Manon Gunderson-Briggs (Gingy), Hollie James (Swing), Rubin Matters (Peter Pan), Sarah Murr (Fairy Godmother), Joshua Robson (Little Pig), Monique Sallé (Red Riding Hood), Tom Sharah (Little Pig), Leigh Sleightholme (Swing), Suzanne Steele (Wicked Witch), Rhys Velasquez (Swing), Caleb Vines (Pinocchio) and Sascha Wykes (Baby Bear).

SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favourite ogre to life on the stage. Featuring a terrific score of 19 songs, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, it’s no wonder The New York Times called it ‘True Happiness’ and The Daily Mirror said it’s ‘the most fun you’ll ever have’.
